| Research Interests |
My research interests are focused on three fundamental areas in transplantation immunobiology:
1. Allorecognition in the innate immune system. Both invertebrate and vertebrate (mouse) models of transplantation are employed to investigate the earliest innate signals that trigger rejection.
2. Role of lymphoid tissues in the initiation and propagation of the alloimmune response. We are currently studying whether ectopic lymphoid tissues that develop within the graft are involved in either acute or chronic rejection.
3. The biology of memory T cells in organ transplantation. We are currently investigating how memory T cells migrate to a transplanted organ and what is required for their activation and maintenance. |
