Research Interests
The research interests of my group are primarily in the field of xenotransplantation, both of whole organs and of pancreatic islets. We have access to α1,3–galactosyltransferase gene-knockout pigs and other genetically- modified pigs from our collaborators at Revivicor, Inc., and we are currently testing these in several pig-to-nonhuman primate models. We also have an interest in islet allotransplantation as a treatment for diabetes.
